Our Groovy Guide to Tablescape Design.

Here are some basic tablescape principles we used for this “Dazed & Engaged,” Bridal Shower. Try these tips to create a cohesive and engaging event design for any occasion.

Color.

Color is the roadmap of your design. Consider the occasion for the event and what you want the event to feel like. In this case, we chose vibrant hues for this retro & funky theme.

Height.

Create a more dynamic visual story by arranging objects at different heights along the table. A good rule of thumb is to keep candles, flowers, and other objects at a maximum of 18 inches, to ensure that all of your guests are able to see each other and converse easily.

Texture.

Play with different textures to create a conversation. Add life to the table with favors or fruits. A funky figurine, or interesting bowl could be the icebreaker that guests need to get conversation flowing.

Function.

We won’t go so far as to say “less is more,” but you do want guests to enjoy the space and feel comfortable rather than cramped. Add elements to your tablescape that serve a larger purpose for the design, rather than overpowering it.
